Papers of Mrs Mary Cook

This collection comprises two ms letters, recommending the services of Mrs Mary Cook as a maternity nurse (11 September 1899 and 9 February 1906), accompanied by a three further ts letters from the G. W. Duncan, Secretary of the Central Midwives Board, confirming that her name has been entered on to the Midwives Roll (14 February 1905), and then outlining the rules of the Central Midwives Board (May 1905 and 30 October 1924).

Mrs Mary Cook (fl. 1880-1930) was a midwife who for a time worked in South Shields in Tyne and Wear. She passed the examination of the Central Midwives Board in 1905.
