Scope and Content

Photocopied ts minutes of the Midwifery Committee of the National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting for Northern Ireland (23 February 1983-28 November 1990), recording the members present, correspondence received and the subsequent discussions that took place at meetings, concerning the registration, education and discipline of midwives, with particular references to the role of a midwife, midwifery rules and code of practice, examination pass rates, the supervision of midwives, male midwives, the syllabus of refresher courses in midwifery, control of infection in hospitals, family planning and pre-conception care and shortages of student midwives, together with a ts report on membership of the National Board (March 1989).
