Relates to: the completion of his Old Vic tour; a six-month extension of his stage work offered by MGM because of the war; a forthcoming visit from Ben Goetz [of MGM]; and RD's belief that he is improving as an actor. He urges his mother not to be alarmed at news of the war in the American press, which comes largely from second hand Nazi sources.
