Letter from RD to his brother John, relating to: his gratitude for John's Christmas letter and money; news of Joanna; his recent purchase of a cheap car, which they have used to come away on holiday; reflections on his first London year, which has publicised his name and his versatility, as well as increasing his salary; his conviction that a good actor can retain a faithful box office public in any kind of role, provided he pursues a definite policy; and interest in his work which has been expressed by one of London's biggest managers.
