Letter from RD to his mother, reporting that he is awaiting the results of a recent medical examination for a major film role, and also making reference to: his fight against asthma; the children, and the advantages he feels he has given them despite his divorce; and RD's gratitude for the advantages he received from his own parents, particularly the elocution lessons which formed 'the foundation of my whole creative life and the irremovable and irreplacable [sic] rock on which my career was built'.
