Letter from RD to his father and brother John, relating to: his current search for a countrified residence around northern London to use as a weekend retreat; news of his mother, who is staying with them; the postponement of his next film, Cash, until early 1933; his recent refusal of a small film part as a butler; his receipt of an offer [from London Films] for a further three-year contract, at £70, rising to £85 and £100 per week, about the best offer ever made in British pictures; and his decision not to accept this until he knows how much he is worth, how much he enjoys film work, and whether he could combine it with stage work.
Holograph. A date of receipt (8 December) has been added in another hand.
