Scope and Content

Letter from RD to his parents and brothers John and Bill, much of which is devoted to RD's thoughts on Marlene Dietrich, whom he dislikes intensely. Includes references to: her habit of stealing ideas from RD's performance and working them into her own; a confrontation they had on set about this; and his immunity from her feminine charms. Other topics covered include: RD's present family holiday; the family's Christmas, including a visit to see When the rainbow ends; RD's finances, including a debt owed to Alex Korda; and his improved health. He also urges his family not to believe all they read about him.

Holograph.
