Scope and Content

Letter from RD to his father, sent from the Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in Brighton, where RD is staying on the general ward. He describes in detail the surgery he has been through to recut some bone in his nose, and also refers to: the serious illness and death of an 11-year-old boy on his ward; a recent chance encounter with Sir Frank [Benson]; his father's new job; and the possibility of RD being involved in a London production at Christmas. The letter is concluded in London after leaving the hospital.
