Letter from RD to his mother, relating to: his agreement to make a film of Terence Rattigan's The Winslow boy for [Alexander] Korda; his role in the film; his refusal to sign up with Korda for more than one film at a time; work on forming his own film unit and plans for his first independent production, which will be [Walter] Greenwood's The cure for love; his mother's health; and recent American reports about his asthma and possible retirement, which he denies. With a brief postscript addressed to his brother John.
