The letters concern Newton's request, use and return of photographs and prints from Paul Nash. Newton wished to borrow the prints and reproductions of Nash's work to assist in his writings on the artist, also to make blocks from the images for publication. TGA 7050/990 features a request list of the prints Newton required; references are made to his publications 'The 1943 Saturday Book', Hutchinson, 1943 (TGA 7050/992-993) and 'Transformations'(?) (TGA 7050/994). Newton also requested slides from Nash for the lecture 'Contemporary British Painting' he gave in Ireland (TGA 7050/996-997), and defends his criticism of 'Air Raid on Germany' (TGA 7050/997).
Seven letters and one postcard from Eric Newton, art critic and author, to Paul Nash.
