The letters concern the expiry and renewal of Paul Nash's appointment as Assistant at the RCA, from the secretaries of the Council J.Saddington and G.S. Sandilands (TGA 7050/1162, 1164 and 1166); the Ministry of Information's use of propaganda and Kenneth Clark's efforts in relation to this; the re-opening of the RCA at Ambleside; copyrights; the return of old students from active service in the war and Paul Nash's ill health, from P.H. Jowett, RCA (TGA 7050/1165, 1168-69); and a request from Daphne Lord, Hon. Secretary, RCA, for Nash to give a lecture to the students at Ambleside (TGA 7050/1167). Includes letter from Frank Pick to Lord Stanhope, President of the Board of Education, criticising the students work exhibited in the Commercial and Industrial Design section of the RCA Exhibition, 1938, and a (copy) letter in defense from B.P. Moore, Secretary to the Council, RCA, to Earl de la Warr, President of the Board of Education (TGA 7050/1163). Also includes an envelope from the RCA covered with addresses in Nash's hand (TGA 7050/1170).
