Scope and Content

[Dr.] T. Drysdale, Liverpool to [Dr. Thomas] stating that he is glan that Dr. Thomas is working for the Materia Medica and notes that the Materia Medica does not confine itself to either old or new medicines but contains as much as possible of the more elaborate and complete treatises on medicine to try and keep up to date with the knowlage of the day. He advises that in the case of some completely new medicine that has not quite been thoroughly proven that the best course of action is to publish what is known in the 'B' Journal and after a time work it up with any additional observations by himself or another. He concludes by wishing Dr. Thomas well and mentions that as regards the dispensing he knows of no hint that the present house surgeon wishes to leave and therefore there is not a vacancy otherwise his friend would have been welcome.
