Scope and Content

To his mother, thanks for the box of chocolates, has ha dinner with Colonel Mitchiner and his wife, visited Milford with Auchinleck and his aide-de-camp Francis Stuart, where he saw Boyes anti-tank gun, which thinks is ineffective; details his current set up at camp. Describes a bombing near Winchester which did no damage. Says current situation although "very queer" is "more mentally restful than being in civilian employment".
