There are 23 pp. reciting various deeds governing the devolution of the property purchased, and ranging in date from 1725 to 1813. The solicitor for the purchaser was Rowland Williams of Beaumaris, chief agent to the Baron Hill estate. It was his duty to be absolutely satisfied on the question of title; so refractory were some of the questions put by him, that counsel (John Prujean of Gray's Inn) was not satisfied before he had made three separate attempts at answering them (5 Nov., 1814; 8 Feb., 1815; 3 May, 1815). It was well to be sure, as the purchase price was £15,000.

Edward Hughes, clerk (father of the first Lord Dinorben).
