This estate by 1776 had become seriously narrowed in limits and its owners of comparatively little consequence, though at one time the squires of Methlan intermarried with the best families in Llyn. In the main line the family died out with this David Griffith, who is said to have lost his life in crossing to America (for him, see Pedigrees, pp. 239, 271).
