Compiled by Mr. Harri Gwynn Jones, M.A., UCNW. References to new ideas in the world of invention. Entries under the names of John Wilkinson of Bersham to Dr. Richard Price (possibly),and to John Pennant and his son Richard [afterwards the first Lord Penrhyn], both elected members of the Society on 29th March, 1758. The Pennants were owners of big estates in Jamaica and no doubt were interested in new inventions bearing upon the production of sugar and the distilling of rum.
