Recovery deed of the Dinam Estate

"The Revd. Richard Prichard Clerk and Anne his wife to John Hughes [of Bangor], gentleman ..." and a copy of the Recovery. The document is interesting because it gives detailed particulars of the process of recovery at the Court of Great Sessions not many years before that Court was finally abolished. Besides the aforesaid John Hughes, who was a Bangor attorney living at Brynmenai, another party to the transaction was the Rev. Evan Lloyd [the younger] of Maes-y-porth, rector of Aberffraw, whose niece Jane was married to John Hughes [incidentally, Rector Lloyd died just six weeks after the deed was signed - Pedigrees, 72-73). On the dorse are two memoranda, one that one of the premises, Eirianell Goch, was mortgaged in 1843 to a Margaret Owen of Pwllheli; the other, that Ty Mawr and Kên Fuarth were mortgaged in 1838 to the Rev. James Vincent Vincent [grandfather of Sir Hugh Vincent and of Sir WIlliam Vincent].
