Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Robert Nanney was a descendant of a younger branch of the house of Cefndeuddwr, which in turn was a younger branch of the parent house of Nannau (Pedigrees, 165). Two points deserve notice: a rather surprising witness to the will was William WIlliams, physician, who is known just at this period to be on rather poor terms with certain other members of the Nanney family at Caernarvon; the will was not accepted by the elder Nanney branch, represented by Richard Nanney, clerk, of Bachwen, because on the dorse is a distinct entry that is at one time an exhibit in a lawsuit in which the widow Nanney and Robert Prichard (an infant pleading through his father_ were complainants. Two documents: original and copy of the Will, with probate.
