Correspondence with Francis Lyall [Frank] Birch (1889-1956), intelligence officer, relating to discussion of potential employment at the Manchester Guardian as a leader writer and successor to C.E. Montague, journalist and novelist, with details of the role, and discussion of a potential trial.
