Correspondence with James Evershed Agate (1877-1947), drama critic, relating to an enquiry regarding potential employment as a theatre critic, and of confirmation of an offer of employment at the Manchester Guardian. Also included is correspondence with [Charles Edward] Montague, journalist and novelist, relating to a request for employment as a theatre critic or book reviewer, and a discussion of style in review writing and editing.
