Correspondence with James Fitzmaurice-Kelly (1857-1923), historian of Spanish literature, relating to a request by Scott that Fitzmaurice-Kelly act as correspondent on the University of Liverpool for the Manchester Guardian, with discussion of the work entailed, which is accepted. Also included is correspondence relating to apologies from Fitzmaurice-Kelly for not providing an update on the university, owing to his absence from Liverpool, and a suggestion for a replacement for the role of correspondent. There is reference to the return to the position of correspondent by Oliver Elton, scholar and translator, for the interim.
