La Boheme: Royal Opera House, 1974

Julia's designs for the Royal Opera House's new production of La Boheme was the first new production since the first staging and was only superceded by a new staging in 2016. The series contains production notes, research material, correspondence relating to the production, sketches and designs for costumes, wigs and scenery and props, illustrating the stages of Julia's design process, from initial sketch, through initial design to the annotated and photocopied designs, with attached samples that were used by the costume, scenery and prop departments. There is also publicity material, posters and press cuttings and publicity demonstrating the production's reception.
