The Nutcracker: Royal Ballet, ROH, 1984-1985

This series contains material relating to Julia's designs for the Royal Ballet's production of the Nutcracker which became a regularly revived Christmas production for the Royal Ballet. Included in the series is correspondence, Julia's production diary and notebook, notes by Peter Wright (the producer) on the plot, action and other aspects of his version of the ballet, details of a research trip to Germany, production notes, lists of characters and props, minutes of meetings and memos, lists of stage calls, publicity material, press cuttings, set, prop and production photographs and material relating to a BBC televised recording of the production. There is also research and reference material, sketches and drawings for costumes, jewellery, hair and wigs, sets and props and elevations, plans and technical drawings of the stage, scenery and props. There is also publicity material and AV recordings of the production.
