Scope and Content

Material relating to Julia Tevelyan Oman's commission to redesign the fountain at Warwick Castle. Oman's redesign included a sculpture of the Warwick bear which also formed the central character for the interconnected tableaux which Oman design for the conservatory at Warwick Castle. The sculpture was created by Astrid Zydower and copies of the bear statue were later used in one of the gardens at The Laskett. The series contains photographs, reference photographs and material, sketches and designs for the fountains and photographs showing the creation and installation of the fountain and sculpture.
