Scope and Content

Includes:
- three copies of the rehearsals script for ‘The School for Wives’ by Moliere, adapted by Miles Malleson (ATV, 1958). One copy lacks a title page, and is heavily annotated by Frankie Howerd;
- unmarked rehearsal script for a Cilla Black special (otherwise known as ‘Cilla Black and Frankie Howerd’) by Galton & Simpson and Ronnie Taylor (Thames TV, c.1968);
- Frankie Howerd’s rehearsal script – heavily annotated – for ‘Frankie Howerd meets the Bee Gees’ by Galton & Simpson (ABC TV, 1968);
- three photocopied play scripts for ‘Murder in the Blackout’ by Dulcie Grey;
- seven page typed pitch for ‘The Frankie Howerd Gameshow’, proposing the format. The show was to be produced by Graham Benson and Mike Goddard;
- annotated script, lacking it’s title page, for an episode of ‘The Laughtermakers’ called ‘The Art of Frankie Howerd’ (BBC Radio Home Service, transmission date 23 May 1957);
- two rehearsal scripts and one camera script, for three episodes of ‘Frankie and Bruce’ by Barry Cryer (Thames TV, 1974). The Christmas episode was heavily annotated by Frankie Howerd; and
- five scripts for two shows of ‘Frankie and Bruce’s Christmas Show’ by Dick Hills and Sid Green (ABC TV, 1966 and 1967). One script is heavily annotated by Howerd.
