Sketches of characters and characters in settings in graphite and watercolour on ten sheets of paper and the back of one envelope, inscribed in graphite with ms notes on colours and details, including a sketch of Ada Rehan as Viola, (copied from a photograph); of a female attendant: 'Telling of Malvolio's approach' , and references to the characters Curio, Caesario (sic) and 'two attendants on Olivia'. The small watercolour sketch on cartridge paper mounted on a sheet of paper seems to be Hockley's 'finished' sketch, the pinholes in the top corners indicating that it had been pinned up. The sheet on which it is mounted is inscribed in graphite and ink with ms notes on colours and details.
