Sketches of characters and characters in settings in pen and ink of a number of plays including Corneille's The Liar, and Louis XIII and Molière's The Mock Doctor on 11 sheets of paper, inscribed in pen and ink with ms notes on colours and details, and one on the back of a butcher's bill headed: 'P.J. Howe, Family Butcher, 73, Markhouse Road, Walthamstow', dated July 4th 1908, with ms addition sum verso, probably relating to the bill. Including the character's name, Sganarelle.
