Sketches of characters, a setting, and characters in settings in graphite and watercolours on 23 sheets of paper inscribed in graphite with ms notes on colours and details including the characters' names Phaedra, Theseus and Aphrodite . The six watercolours without notes seem to be Hockley's 'finished' sketches. With a newspaper cutting on the production inscribed by Hockley; 'Morning Post May 27th 1904, and an original paper folder inscribed in graphite by Hockley: 'Hippolytus, June 3rd '04'.
