Scope and Content

Sketches of characters in graphite on nine butcher's bills headed: 'P.J. Howe, Family Butcher, 73 Markhouse Road, Walthamstow' dated between January and October 1910, and of characters and characters in a setting on the back of the fronts of three envelopes addressed in ms to Edgar Hockley, 14 Prospect Road, Markhouse Road, Walthamstow, two postmarked 1915. Inscribed in graphite with ms notes of colours and and details, including the characters' names Rosaline and Queen (perhaps meaning the Princess).
