As is abundantly clear from letters 3564-4568, T.J. was sanguine (in the early months of 1927) that E.H.J. would write up a volume on the Social & Economic History of Wales during the War, 1914-8, for the Editorial Board of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and for that purpose sent to him 4569-4572, monographs and other contributions which T.J. had secured from interested quarters when it was his own considered intention to produce the volume. These are cognate in character with 3169-3201, 4548-4563, which, however, came direct to this Library from T.J. himself. It may be said that of the list contained in 4565, some came in amongst 3169-3201, some amongst 4569-4572, while some items still remain to be accounted for. Unfortunately, E.H.J. was never able to bring the work to fruition : he was overburdened with duties and offices of ntrust - he soon became editor of the Welsh Outlook, registrar of this College, member of the Bangor City Council and chairman of its Finance Committee, member of the Caernarvon County Council, & c. Now that the material is deposited here, it will be at hand for any student of economics and sociology to assess and utilise.
