Postcard of 17th August [MS Gen 1614/248] delivered today. Has written several letters not received by William. Probably lost at sea. No trace of registered letter to Kate in November 1940. Disturbed at William's loss of weight. Avoid pessimistic title for new book. No reply from Fyfe. Jim away yacht racing. Kate's windows to be replaced before September.
