Letter from W.R. Paterson to Venn Paterson. Grand Hotel-Restaurant Pascal, Manosque, Basses Alpes, France, 9 June 1941.
Ordered by Prefect of Alpes Maritimes to quit Grasse and reside here. Foreign element in south of France being dispersed because of serious food question. Climate too cold. Winter here would mean death. Scanty food and poor accommodation. Most disagreeable experience ever had. Service in Army and on Rhineland Commission one reason for partial loss of liberty. Two postcards from Kate.
