    • Codex 596 ff Vellum. 596 folios, plus 3 blank leaves at the beginning and 2 at the back. 26 x 19 cm (written surface 20 x 14 cm). Text in two columns of 48 lines. Text is written in bolorgir, with rubrics and titles of the books in red ink, ornate bird capitals throughout. Binding is light brown leather overboards, blind tooled on front and back, purple silk lining and remains of metal attachments on the inside. At some point the manuscript has been rebound, as holes are visible inside the front cover and the doublures have been removed. Portraits of Christ and the Virgin with Child are represented on the upper and lower underside of the manuscript.

Scope and Content

An Armenian manuscript containing:. ff.1r-596r The Bible, Old and New Testaments, including several apocryphal books such as the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, the Epistle of the Corinthians to Paul, and Paul's Third Epistle to the Corinthians. In the margins, in red ink the varied readings of the Latin Vulgate are marked by Ֆ (F = Frank). ff.596r-v Colophon. Marginal decorations and further headpieces are present throughout the manuscript, particularly in Psalms and the Four Gospels.
