    • 1 item 616 ff Vellum. 616 folios. 35.5 x 24.5 cm (cover 36 x 25.5 x 15 cm, written surface 28 x 18 cm). The final quire comprises only 4 leaves, with 2 folios of paper blank, 2 folios of vellum blank apart from scribbles, 1 folio vellum of blank, 2 folios of paper blank. Text in double columns of 38 lines. Text is in large bolorgir in black ink, with some red initials. Binding is stout calf on boards, probably 18th century, blind-tooled; two metal clasps on the front, traces of leather thongs on the back.

Scope and Content

An Armenian manuscript containing:. ff.1r-616v Menologium, redaction of Grigor Tserēnts' of Khlat' (1350-1426). Major decorations:. f.6v A full-page portrait of St Grigor the Illuminator and King Trdat. f.131v A quarter-page portrait of Cosmas and Damian. f.189v A full-page miniature in four panels showing St Grigor the Illuminator and his sons and grandsons, Saints Aristakēs, Vrt'anēs, Yusik and Grigoris. f.257v A full-page miniature, the top half divided into two panels that each contain an Annunciation scene, the lower half depicting the Adoration of the Magi.
