Scope and Content

1 talk entitled Parks, with slides (122 slides in 2 large grey slide trays). Looking at the background and history of Parks, including deer parks, lakes, grottos and temples. The 4 Huddersfield parks mentioned are: Greenhead Park which featured the Holidays At Home scheme during and after WW2, Ravensknowle Park which contains the Tolson Museum, Beaumont Park which was created from part of Dungeon Wood (associated with the Luddites) and Norman Park, Birkby. Mentioned are the de Laci family, Capability Brown, Whitley Beaumont and Ramsdens.
