Looks at Huddersfield's public transport system from horse drawn omnibus services, Huddersfield's first municipal tram system in the United Kingdom 1883 - 1940. There were horse drawn, steam, coal and electric trams. Trolley bus system ran 1933 - 1968. Motor buses began operating in 1924. Also looks the cost, journeys and occasional crashes of local transport. Holmfirth and the Floods (84 slides in 1 large grey slide tray). There are 2 slightly different talks on Holmfirth. Background to town and flooding in the area. Mentions floods from 1313 including the appalling disaster of the Bilberry reservoir flood in 1852 in which 81 people died. Mentions the hamlet of Hinchliffe Mill also Bottoms Mill, Victoria Mill, Upper Mill, Smithy Place and Armitage Bridge. Includes details of survivors and inquests. A further serious flood occured in 1944 when 3 people died.
