Scope and Content

"12 Minuets / by / Mr Handel: Bononcini &c: / in / 3 Parts".

Parts (bass). Bass part of twelve minuets. No individual attributions are given. The two concordances of G. F. Handel (1685-1759) which were found date from 1725 and circa 1729 respectively. All instrumental music in vols. 1-3 of Walter Eisen and Margret Eisen, Händel-Handbuch (Leipzig, 1978, 1984-6) was checked for further concordances, but none were found. "Bononcini" presumably refers to Giovanni Bononcini (1670-1747), who was active in London from 1720 to 1731. The title is taken from the front cover. 12-stave MS paper. Wrapper: coarse beige paper. In a single hand. Foliation added when catalogued.
