No title in the manuscript. The British union-catalogue of early music printed before the year 1801, ed. Edith B. Schnapper (London: Butterworth Scientific Publications, 1957) printed copies are dated 1688; David Humphrey's notes that the first printed source with a second treble part was issued in 1703. Casing: leather with gold tooling. 4-stave MS paper. In a single hand. Only one piece has a title: number "96-97" of the first book, "I would if I should But I dare not" (f. 27r). The back endpaper is inscribed, "Handen Hardin" (plus other miscellaneous annotations in the same hand).
