Scope and Content

A joint committee of the Councils of the University and UMIST which oversaw the management of the Regional Computer Centre. The Centre was established in 1969, and provided computer services for a consortia of North West universities (including Salford, Liverpool, Keele, and Lancaster). The committee was originally chaired by Geoffrey Gee, professor of chemistry at the University, and its members included the director of the Centre and user representatives.

In 1988, following restructuring and changes in reporting relationships, the Committee was renamed the Resources Management Committee.
