Scope and Content

Broomcroft Hall was the residence of Lord Simon of Wythenshawe, a former chairman of Council. The Hall was bequeathed to the University, who originally used it as place of residence for the Simon Research Fellows and other academic visitors. It was also used by University staff, and in time, part of the Hall estate became the official residence of the University Vice-Chancellor. The Committee oversaw the management of the Hall until the 1990s.
