Scope and Content

A joint committee of Senate and Council, established in 1963 to plan the revision of the University's charter and statutes. The Committee was chaired by Sir Raymond Street, the chairman of Council. The Committee took evidence from a large number of individuals about the future development of the University. A draft charter and statutes were submitted to Council in June 1971 and the new charter was issued in 1973.
