Scope and Content

Has seen Mrs Sadd Brown and she is well and sends her love. She will look out for him on Sunday at 6.30; will he find out whether she is to be called up for trial and signal with handkerchief. Red handkerchief means danger, white 'we are not needed'. Asks for interesting news to be kept until her release, as it is difficult to get newspapers. Have Irish women struck and had window smashing raid? If so, wave green flag; each lift of flag means 10 women struck - or put number in black on white flag. Mentions hunger strike at Aylesbury; all peaceful at Holloway.
