McKenna at the Home Office. Draft letter. Writes to ask for revision of sentence on his wife and also permission to visit her. Sentence seems savage when compared with sentences for theft etc. Also sentence on male political offenders (e.g. syndicalists) have been altered and it seems obvious that importance of votes has influenced this decision. Mentions services to Liberalism of himself and his wife. Must see her to obtain her signature on cheques etc. (note on top of letter 'Interview granted eventually')
