Scope and Content

Concerns the 4th Duke's horses; local militia lists and concern about possible disorder at Winster; a disagreement with Mr Knowlton about "the intended New Garden in the Orchard" at Chatsworth; his disapproval of the plan for the stoves and grape walls in two places a mile apart in a place where the soil is bad for grapes and with a gardener's house in the rookery.
