Pedigree of the Ravenscrofts of Breton, Co. Flint, and their descendants, compiled by the Rev. R.B. Ravenscroft, rector of Calverton, Stony Stratford, Bucks, who has prefaced the pedigree with the following note : "The Pedigree of the family was published some years since, and was compiled from an ancient pedigree in parchment emblazoned with over 100 shields; it is in the possession of the family and goes back to the 11th century - the Ravenscrofts of Ravenscroft near Middlewich, Cheshire. The estates ultimately passed through an heiress to the Croxton family. Through a younger son, Richard de Ravenscroft of Middlewich, the following are descended"
