Administrative / Biographical History
Major John Smith was a member of the General Committee of Management of the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society.
Rev William Ripley Winston (1847-1918) served as Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society missionary in their Ceylon district from 1873 until 1886, their Negapatam and Trichinoploy district from 1886 until 1887 and was central to the creation of the Burma District in 1887 where he remained until 1898. From 1898 until 1915 he served on the India National Missionary Council and was also a member of the General Committee of Management of the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society.
