Summary: The text of a sermon preached on chapter 2, verse 17 of the First Epistle of Peter. It examines the question of the kinds of duty and honour owed to God and to the king.

Text begins:'The holy scripture is like the firmament'; text ends:'... This wee beg of thee for the meritts & passion of Jesus Christ. To whom withe the father & blessed spirit, be ascribed all honour & glory, now & for ever. Amen'.
