Scope and Content

This sub-fonds consists of two video lecture series Calvin Wells produced in collaboration with the Audio-Visual Centre at the University of East Anglia in the 1970s. The first series was produced in 1972 consists of 6 black and white lectures with an approximate running time of 40mins. In these lectures Calvin Wells appears on screen in a traditional presenting style with a pair of assistants. The production date for the second series has not been ascertained. It consists of 4 colour episodes with an average running time of 1hr 45mins. The format of the second series is a straight forward slide show narrated by Calvin Wells who never appears on screen. The collection holds a VHS and digital copy of every episode, aside from CAL/12/1 which only exists in digital format.

Archivist's Note

Digital copies of these recordings were transferred from original analogue video cassettes held by the East Anglian Film Archive. The digitisation service was provided by Stewart Orr of Telecine Services, Norfolk in July 2018.
