This sub-fonds consists of publicity and press coverage of Calvin Wells and his professional endeavors between 1944 and 1984. All of the material in the collection was collected and preserved by Calvin or Freddie Wells so may not reflect the full extent of publicity or press coverage he received during this period. There are clippings from local and national publications reporting on Calvin Wells' various professional activities (palaeopathology, speaking tours, television appearances), press coverage (reviews or advertisements) of Wells' two books 'Bones, Bodies and Disease' (1962) and 'Man in his World' (1972), a VHS and digital copy of the ITV documentary profile on Wells 'Discovery: Down Among the Dead Men' (broadcast in 1974). The final series holds a photocopy of Well's obituary in 'The Times' (5 August 1978) written by Glynn Daniel and a typescript copy of a biography of Wells written and read by friend and hematologist Gerald Hart at meeting of the Toronto Medical Historical Club (28 January 1983).
