This sub-fonds consists of scripts, research material, correspondence, and marketing material related to Calvin Wells' various speaking engagements and lecture tours. Wells' lectures cover various topics, including palaeopathology, medicine, the history of medicine, and art history. This includes documentation from Wells' involvement in organising a major symposium on palaeopathology with the Royal Society of Medicine and The Toronto Academy of Medicine. Wells died before the 'Disease in Ancient Man' conference took place in March 1979 and it took place in his honour. The archive material in the collection does not reflect the full extent of Wells' speaking engagements and activities, due to the fact that he improvised many speeches without a prepared script.
